I am curious to know how much raw milk costs in different parts of the country. How much do you pay for a gallon of raw milk? I have to say that I am very blessed to only pay $2.50 per gallon from a local farm! That is less then conventional. The only problem is I have to drive about 45 minutes to get it, but for that price I can't complain.

we used to pay $6 a gallon but recently decided to find another farm because the place we were using started to look not-so-clean . . . :(
ReplyDeleteright now we're getting low heat pasteurized & un-homogenized milk delivered to our door for $8/gallon
oh and we're in Oregon
ReplyDeleteWe are in Kansas and have been paying $6 a gallon. I am trying to find another source, though, because our farmer's cow is drying up and every time I call they are out. Would love suggestions, if anyone has a source.
ReplyDeleteKim,
ReplyDeleteI am in Kansas as well. What area to you live in? I have 2 sources right now. One for $2.50/ gallon and the other for around $3. Email me for more specific info.
California...raw milk co-op that delivers (same price as in store since it is legal to sell) is $4.00 a quart.
ReplyDeleteThat is not a typo. $16 a gallon.
I paid a few times $9 a gallon for the raw and just couldnt do it anymore, so we are getting grass feed non homogenized, low pastuerized milk from a csa for 6.75, it breaks my heart to pay it. I'm in South Carolina
ReplyDelete$7 gallon in central Arkansas.
ReplyDeleteOuch! $16 a gallon!
ReplyDeleteI'm in the Bay Area, No. CA. I paid $4.50 for a quart from a local health food store.
ReplyDeleteWOW, $16. I'm in Central PA and the place I can buy raw milk is $4.50/gal. or $2.50/half gal. You can fill your own containers. Similarly, a gallon of whole milk at our local dairy (pasturized, non-BSH) is slightly less, taking into account the bottle deposit.
ReplyDeleteI haven't purchased any yet but in Phoenix, AZ it is $10 a gallon!
ReplyDeleteIn NH, $1 a gallon right at the farm....in NC, $7
ReplyDeleteWe're in Indiana and have two cow shares. After breaking down the costs, we're at about $5.00/gallon.
ReplyDeleteWe are in SW PA and we pay $2.00 a gal. The farm is less than a 10 min drive and we take our own containers. Very clean farm! First time visitor to your site....Sonya Johnson
ReplyDeleteWow, I'm so jealous of all of you (except the $16/gal). I am goign to go buy my first raw milk tomorrow and after shopping around it's between $9 and $12 per gallon. There aren't any farms within 2 hours driving that I can get it myself, so I will buy it from a co-op. I can't believe I'm doing it, but hoping to get pregnant and have been having some trouble. Going to raw everything I can get my hands on. No more non-fat for me.
ReplyDelete$7.99 to $8.99 per gallon in San Francisco, CA.
