Cooking And Baking Day Plans

I am planning to join Crystal from Money Saving Mom in a cooking and baking day. I love to cook ahead and freeze food. It saves me so much time on nights I don't feel like cooking or have time to. Here is my proposed list. It is a bit long, but I have 2 days. I may be adding more meals as I go along.

Bread x 4 loaves
Pumpkin seeds (We cleaned 15 pumpkins!)
Brown 1 lb beef
Meatloaf
Cook and freeze beans
Cook and freeze rice
Pumpkin pancakes
Pizza x 2
Butternut squash soup
Rolls
Pumpkin pie x 2
Tortillas
Chicken and rice (crock pot)
Pumpkin ravioli Casserole

It is about 10:45 and so far I have almost finished the pumpkin seeds, meatloaf, beans, rice, and I have started soaking the tortillas.

  1. I just found your blog and I love it! It's good to see that someone else out there has a blog like this. I just started one, so if you get a chance, check it out. I'd love to hear any advice you have: The Savvy Steward

Let us know how you do with this once-a-month cooking project. I was thinking about doing this, but I am waiting until we can buy an extra freezer to store food in.

  2. SavvyKate,

I tried to post this as a comment on your blog, but I could not get the word verification to work.

Thanks for stopping by Natural On A Budget. I am glad to hear you enjoyed it. I can understand living with your parents. I did it for a year, but I only had one child at the time. We are now expecting number 3.

We drink cow's milk. I really like goat milk products, but I have not been able to find a source of fresh goat's milk that is not really expensive.
