Have you ever wondered if buying organic toiletries, clothing, makeup, cleaning supplies, and baby items is worth the extra cost? After discovering the Skin Deep: Cosmetic Safety Review website I have had to rethink some of my purchases. You can search many of the items you use everyday to find out how toxic they really are. I was surprised that even many natural products did not rate so well. Give it a try you might find out that it really is worth a little extra cost.
Their scoring system is 0-2 low hazard, 3-6 moderate hazard, and 7-10 high hazard.
I checked out the Seventh Generation wipes I posted about here compared with Huggies and Pampers wipes. Seventh Generation scored a 1. Huggies scored anywhere from 4-7 and Pampers scored anywhere from 3-5. I can only imagine where the generic brands would rate.

Thank you for sharing this! My son has developed a contact allergy to "something" recently - we thought it was a palm tree in our yard but I'm beginning to suspect it's a change to his diapers. I'm going to go check them right now! They are disposables so I'm well aware they are going to be high on the scale anyway - but I'm curious to see whether they are higher than the other brand I have (that he doesn't seem to be breaking out when he wears them).
