Check The Safety Of Your Household Products

Have you ever wondered if buying organic toiletries, clothing, makeup, cleaning supplies, and baby items is worth the extra cost? After discovering the Skin Deep: Cosmetic Safety Review website I have had to rethink some of my purchases. You can search many of the items you use everyday to find out how toxic they really are. I was surprised that even many natural products did not rate so well. Give it a try you might find out that it really is worth a little extra cost.

Their scoring system is 0-2 low hazard, 3-6 moderate hazard, and 7-10 high hazard.

I checked out the Seventh Generation wipes I posted about here compared with Huggies and Pampers wipes. Seventh Generation scored a 1. Huggies scored anywhere from 4-7 and Pampers scored anywhere from 3-5. I can only imagine where the generic brands would rate.

  1. Thank you for sharing this! My son has developed a contact allergy to "something" recently - we thought it was a palm tree in our yard but I'm beginning to suspect it's a change to his diapers. I'm going to go check them right now! They are disposables so I'm well aware they are going to be high on the scale anyway - but I'm curious to see whether they are higher than the other brand I have (that he doesn't seem to be breaking out when he wears them).
